Mark your calendar: Saturday April 25^th 8:30am – 12:30pm! Come run or walk, but even if you do neither, come join in the festivities with hundred of folks from New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania in raising funds for JDRF.  Look for coupons in businesses around the area that you can redeem (1 per person) on April 25^th for 2 free SkyHawks baseball tickets & 2 free door prize tickets. Please note: No Pets allowed in the buildings and Only flat shoes allowed in the Fieldhouse.

 This annual festival presented by non-profit Main Street Events and this year’s title sponsor  PEDIGREE® Food For Dogs will be held at

115 Sparta Ave. in Sparta, NJ The event includes a business expo, 5K run/walk, silent auction, activities for children & adults, complimentary massage, Main Street Events Café (selling food donated by Villa Capri II Stop and Shop, etc.), lots door prizes …something for everyone!   Runners and walkers can bring a change of clothes and should stay for the festivities and great door prizes given out until 12:30.  Course map, race, sponsor & volunteer applications, as well as many details can be on www.MainStreetEvents.org.

Vendors interested in a table at the business expo must register by April 10^th.

Volunteers are much needed, including: town criers, race course, parking, ticket sales, games, silent auction & others.  Come out and have a great time while helping to raise money for JDRF. The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. Type 1 diabetes is a disease which strikes in childhood, adolescence, or adulthood, but lasts a lifetime.

The Northern New Jersey and Rockland County Chapter is one of 80 chapters based across the United States.  In Sussex County, JDRF provides help and support for those living with diabetes and their families.  Programs include our Bag of Hope program for newly diagnosed children with diabetes, a mentoring program to help families copy with diabetes, Halloween Party, diabetes expo and research events.  The chapter also runs the Annual Walk to Cure Diabetes in Sussex each fall.  From more information, please call the chapter office at 201-568-4838.
